My Story

I founded Bridge to the Future in 2005 with a simple goal: to help underserved student-athletes use their talents to access higher education and brighter futures. Over the years, we’ve supported countless individuals, expanded our efforts across the border into Mexico, and brought hope to an impoverished community in one of the most dangerous neighborhoods in the world. We’ve witnessed incredible transformations, and miracles in the lives of so many.

In 2016, we began using WAVi EEG technology to help high school athletes safely return to play after concussions, ensuring their brain health was prioritized. We then extended the use of WAVi scans to veterans, first responders, and traumatic brain injury (TBI) victims across the Southwest U.S., offering critical support to those who serve and protect.

But in October 2019, my journey took an unexpected turn. At 55 years old, I suffered a hemorrhagic stroke, leaving the left side of my body paralyzed. With only a 20% survival rate, I felt both incredibly lucky and deeply shaken. The next 4 ½ years were some of the hardest of my life. I struggled with mental clarity, endured two grand mal seizures, and faced a social anxiety I’d never experienced before. Neuropathy in my hands, body, and legs made even sleep a challenge, despite years of physical, occupational, and speech therapy.

I eventually stepped away from my businesses, retiring to be closer to my family and focus on my granddaughter. But in September 2024, a call changed everything. It reconnected me with the work I loved and introduced me to two life-changing tools: MetaCure supplements and the Neuro20 EMS system.

Within just four days of taking MetaCure, my neuropathy disappeared, and the mental fog that had clouded my life since the stroke lifted. I felt energized and clear, like I’d woken up after years of being asleep. Adding the Neuro20 suit to my recovery only accelerated my progress. For the first time in years, I was excited to work again, eager to help others find healing as I had.

A recent WAVi EEG scan confirmed what I was feeling: my brain health metrics were better than they were in 2016, before my stroke. My recovery has been nothing short of miraculous. While I know everyone’s journey is different, I believe these tools can make a profound impact on others facing TBI, PTSD, stroke, cancer, and chronic pain.

Looking back, I wish I’d had access to these resources after my stroke. I’m confident my recovery would have been quicker, and I wouldn’t have lost those 4 ½ years. Yet, I’m grateful for what I’ve endured—it’s given me empathy and a deep understanding of what it feels like to rebuild a life. I’m more patient, more hopeful, and more determined to help others experience the joy of healing.

In December 2024, I decided to reengage Bridge to the Future. While we’ll continue our work in Mexico, we’re expanding our mission to include programs that support individuals in the U.S. suffering from PTSD, TBI, stroke, cancer, and other health challenges.

Please join me in bringing hope, healing, and transformation to those who need it most. Together, we can help others reclaim their lives and experience the joy of recovery.
